Why Photography??

What makes me stop and take a picture? Sometimes the subject. Often the lighting. Definitely a mood. Photography is so many things to me. And to so many others.

But most important to me is how an image makes me feel.

Putting aside all techniques, all styles, all gear, all editing, all subjects. In the end, how does that photo make you feel?

Personally, I can't apply the same techniques on every photo. Each one has a unique personality.

Does that hurt me on Instagram and Facebook? Probably.

There are millions of gorgeous images out there. And I applaud every single photographer who is brave enough to show their Art. I admire everyone who chooses to add something beautiful to this world. There needs to be more of that.

And we need to add what we think is beautiful or moves us. Not necessarily more of what others are doing, but more of what each of us find sublime.

Because in everyone and everything is something unique which means that there is an infinite number of ways to take a picture.

Which is why I took up photography in the first place. There is always something to learn. Something new to see. Someone to meet. A story yet to be told.

And a chance to put something beautiful out in the world.
